Where can I find a petite, cool and feminine laptop case? Where can I find a laptop bag/case/backpack that isn't black, isn't big and bulky, and is trendy? And which also isn't superexpensive? Is it a good idea to use freezer packs to cool a hot laptop? I've just gotten a new HP dv7 laptop for almost $900. It has 2 harddrives, Intel i5, with a 17'' widescreen and I love it. However, when I play games on there (for about 2 hours or so), the top left hand corner of the bottom of the laptop (near the HP logo) gets super hot. I decided to use frozen freezer packs wrapped in plastic bags, then in some sort of thin fabric to prevent condensation. The outside of the packs are pretty dry even after about 1-2 hours of gaming (when the inside of the packs have melted to gel form again). I was wondering, since the laptop is still new, is it a good idea to keep using this cooling method, or should I just buy a laptop cooling pad (or fan)? BTW: I've looked up most cooling pads (fans) for laptops and most only cool the laptop until its warm. I want to cool it until its not cold or warm (if that makes sense).

Where can i sell a laptop quickly? Is it a good idea to leave a block of ice near my laptop? The laptop sometimes gets really hot to the touch and at the back you can feel the super hot air blowing from the fan. I figure the ice will help it cool off a little? The ice is in a plastic bag so water touching the laptop is not a concern. Do you think this is a good idea or not? Anybody know of a really sweet looking computer case? I was looking around for some computer cases and I couldn't really find anything that I really liked. I was kinda aiming for a light up clear side case, but anything that is really cool looking will do. I got an OLD laptop, wanna install linux, which one is better suited? I just found this really old, but cool laptop locked away in a dark spot of my house. I found an operating manual in the same bag and so I found that it is an "Innovace" and it belongs to the "HyperBook 300" series. HP laptop automatic shutdown problem? I have an HP Compaq 6730 laptop that i have been using all the time for about one year now. I have never had problems with it before until about a week ago. Whenever I use the computer sometimes it shuts off automatically. It seems that it turns off whenever i move it, but im not 100%. The computer should not be over heating because i have it connected to a cooling pad and still it will turn off. The fan of the laptop is working, i dont know if it is working 100% but i dont think it is that because its turns off when the cooling pad has been on it. Whenever i turn it back on right after it shuts off sometimes the power light will not even come on, and other times the power light will come on for like 5 seconds and then it turns off. When it turns on for the 5-6 seconds the fan does not come on and it does not run the Hp processes. One time i had it as school and i have whenever i close the computer it stays on because i run programs o my computer. I put it into my laptop bag and it got pretty hot. It was in my laptop bag for like 30 minutes running and i forgot that it was on. But i dont know if that has anything to do with it. Whenever i look at the BIOS and look at the error logs, there is nothing on it. If there is anything i can check to see if there is a problem or any ideas will help. I am kinda computer smart, not genius, so anything would help. Telling me the problem, Giving me ways to check other componets, or really anything. Thank you. Also i have used the can of compressed air to clean out the fan, and some dust can out but the problems still occur

I left my laptop in my bag without turning it off and it got *really* hot? Is it damaged? I left my laptop in my bad without turning it off, and when I took it out of the bag three hours later it was *really* hot. When I opened the lid, both programs I had open (Chrome and Word) froze and shut themselves down. I immediately turned off the computer and am letting it cool down. So, do you think I did some damage to the computer? If so, how can I find out what kind of damage I did? This computer is only three days old. My old computer never got hot when I put it in my bag. I am using it right now, and it just came out of my backpack where it has been *on* for three days. Not even warm. Something wrong with the new computer, or is overheating in a bag normal?

Can anyone recommend a REALLY good laptop cooling stand? I have been reading recommendations and reviews on Best Buy and it seems like none of the cooling stands are any good at all! are backpacks cool in college? I have my first day of college in 10 days and I'm hoping to pick up my books sometime next week. My question is for other college girls out there...what do you use to carry your books? I bought a backpack today, it's pretty cute I guess, but it's pink and navy and I'm afraid it might sometimes clash with my outfit since it's pretty loud. I have high school age friends who are girls and they all carry tote bags from some place like Hollister or American Eagle for their books. Will a cool mist humidifier help me sleep? My house tends to get very dry, especially my bedroom. This often affects my sleeping patterns. There are just some nights where I constantly feel dehydrated and uncomfortable and my eyes hurt and I can't get to sleep at all. Also it feels like it's much hotter than it actually is. Someone told me that it's a lot better for you to sleep in humidity than dry air, which might explain why I get sick a lot. (usually accompanied by bronchitis) So just a few questions... 1. If I buy one, should it help me get to sleep? 2. Will I get sick less often? 3. Is it pleasant or will I feel clammy and miserable? 4. Will it damage electronics in my bedroom? Laptop backpack for a 17" gaming laptop? I would really like the Oakley Hard Shell back pack but it says it only fits a 15 inch. Is there any cool back packs for 17 inch? I have an ASUS G71GX. My laptop overheated when it wasn't even on... and now I get nothing when I hit power? Advice? My laptop (an MSI) was turned off and charging last night as I've always done. I noticed it was a little warm this morning when I put it in my bag, but didn't have time to check it out. When I got to school today it was HOT. It's since cooled, but won't turn on. Has my lovely friend of only 2 months (just long enough to not qualify for a square trade warantee) just joined the rank of expensive paperweight? What would have made it overheat if it wasn't on? Will it damage the lapto if I pull out the battery often? I have a quite powerful laptop, I guess its heaviness is down to either the extra cooling system, or the extra battery. The latter sounds more convincing to me. I actually use my laptop as if it was a desktop, is it a good idea to solely running it without the battery? What do you carry around in your purse/bag? (I'm reposting this 'cause it ended up in the wrong category and I'm insane enough that that will really bug me.) This has a bit of a backstory and it's kind of long, but please keep reading or just go straight to the end and answer the question, what do you carry around with you. So, here's the back story. I don't like purses, but I most of my pants don't have pockets and because it was summer/this fall is really hot, it's not cool enough to wear a jacket or sweater most of the time, plus I worry about stuff falling out of the pockets. It's happened to me... Anyways, I normally use my messenger bag which is a computer bag and fits my 17inch laptop with room to spare, but normally I don't carry my computer around, so it tends to get a little... overpacked. Like, the last time I used it (this is on a day when I did storytime at the library), I carried around with 2 novels, four kids books, a folder of papers, my wallet, two notebooks, a bottle of sunblock, three or four packs of mini-kleenex pack thingies, my library cards, tape, thumbtacks, two pens, an antique earring case, a couple plastic bags, some change, my keys, a zebra eraser, this little pouch thing that has rolaids, tylenol, my lactose intolerance pills, more kleenex, bandaids, girl things, chapstick, and then after the library I returned one (kids) book, went to the post office and picked up three novels (two in bubble envelopes). So I overpack a little. But on Friday, I was in the city and bought a really cute, smaller, black and purple messenger bag, and I don't know what to carry in it. XD I don't have a cell phone and I don't wear much make up so... help? So what do you all carry around with you? Livvy: Did you even read the question? I have bags. Two of them, to be exact. Tips on living out of your car? OK, so far my car/camper conversion includes: Removing passenger seat/rear fold-down seats for room. Using Velcro to attach a blackout curtain for privacy and darkness on those nights spent in a parking lot. Possibly buying a deep-cycle battery to run laptop, electronics, heater/fan while car isn't running. Cooler for beverages. Laptop+wi-fi hotspots for Internet and entertainment. Can opener and Titanium Spork. Futon matress, pillow, sleeping bag for comfortable living. Using truck stops, fitness clubs, college dorms to shower. bike rack for bike, my alt source of transportation. Power invertor, electric pot for food. What are some other things I can do for my car, or to support myself for an extended vacation?

how the hell do you deal with laptops overheating? so far iv had to put bags of ice under my laptop, but since they drip, it might not be such a good idea lol im too poor to buy a cooling mat, and even if i put it on a hard surface where it can breath properly it still overheats like hell iv tried unclogging the fan but theres never anything there lol so, how do you deal with your laptop overheating? the only honest signs i can say that it is overheating is that it shuts down after reaching extream drgrees, if i try to turn it on after it forced a shut down it wont turn on for more than 2 minuts, and the fan starts to strain itself right before a shut down

bag for school...? So I'm a sophomore now and I'm looking for a new backpack! Apparently I only have like, one book and one binder that I will have to carry around plus my laptop so I'm thinking that I would rather just have a shoulder bag to carry. any advice on my family problem? i have an older brother who is a year and a half older than me and a younger sister who is 5 years younger, im 16 this year and yes i know people always said that teenage years are the hardest year blah blah blah..... But what i want to know is that why do my parents treat me so different than my siblings. my mom would wake me up early in the morning shouting at me how i never clean my room and that i am extremely lazy and all the mean things, i actually clean my room all the time but it always gets messy every morning coz my younger sister would just play with her toys, cut some papers, and mess everything up and my mother put all the blame on me that im the one who did it, my older brother have his own room and he even did not clean a single thing my mother would be the one who clean it and he always wake up around 3 or 4 in the afternoon and pretty much do nothing at all or maybe just go back to sleep or go online to chat with his friends... my mother always told me that i am extremely lazy but i clean the dishes everyday i even wash there clothes every weekend pick up my sister mess throw the garbage every single day and my mom just keep calling me lazy... my mom was never proud of me i have good grades just good enough to pass everything not that high not even that low.... i play in the varsity team basketball and football and my parents just never attended any of my games, but they always attended my brother volleyball game and my sister dance thingy... Yesturday we went to the mall as a family and my mother bought my brother an expensive lacoste shoe, my father bought my sister clothes and a shoe that all has brand and me i was just there carrying there bags and stared at the things i wanted which i would never have enough money to buy for myself i complain why do they get to have new shoes they have like lots of shoe already and they bought 3 shoes in just one year as for me i have been wearing the same shoe for 2 years they just ignore me after i ask them On my 16th birthday my gift was a classic 80gb ipod which i pay half the price or even more, then the next day after i get my gift my mom bought my brother an ipod as well but this time she pay it her self and its even better than mines its 120gb and more expensive and more cooler... my mom bought my brother laptop on his birthday and this year shes buying him a car i get so jealous why she treated mE so differently and it sucks... I'm looking for a schoolbag and purse for high school, and I was wondering what kind to get.? I'm going into a private high school next year, so I feel kind of intimidated as to the quality of my stuff. I'd like something with good quality (but that my stingy parents would allow) at the same time. I'm definitely leaning toward a comfortable tote bag, and I'd like it to have a cute design or a funny phrase. (It'd be nice if it supported a good cause, but it really doesn't matter.) I do NOT want a preppy bag -everyone has those. I'm on the nerdy side, I admit, but the cool nerdy side if such a thing exists. The bag must also be big enough for my laptop, which is around 15 inches. I like conversational pieces as I'm rather shy and can't think of topics without someone speaking to me first. I would like a purse for the essentials, but it's not really important. Again, I would prefer affordable, high quality, and cute, but not preppy or trashy. Should I get this bookbag and this purse for high school? I need a new bookbag for high school and a purse as well. After many reccomendations and endless searching, these are the two I really like. I'd like to know if they'd be suitable for school (my style is kinda nerdy but it cool at the same time, lol) because I have no experience with this sort of thing whatsoever. I'd really like some feedback as to the practicality of what I've chosen, like if I could carry a laptop around comfortably (not hard on my shoulders) and my books at the same time. There were these old video games but I forget their names? Three in particular that are from my childhood. its one of those things where you remember it being way better than it actually was but you still want to play it again for old time sake. !. The first one is seriously old: Its this game where each level you are a guy who needs to get all of the jewels on the screen while things are flying around that could hurt you. In one level its bats, another its rain drops, another is spiders and the spiders was one of the worst ones. 2. The second one of interest was a game where your ship crashes and in the first level you are trying to find some sort of piece to fix it in this dump area of a planet. you have to enter commands in like jump and walk and when I was younger I was a slow typer so when the guy got up on the garbage treadmill thing he would usually get ground up and a picture of meat would show up saying that I died. Some other ways to die were like falling into lava which was followed by a disturbing picture of you melting in the molten rock. Another was getting shot by a gun that traps you in a green jello cube. 3. The third is a game that I played on a very old laptop. It was this guy who went around this complex and each level got progressively worse. I forget how it starts off exactly but there are these lab technicians in the first level, some are cool others aren't. And there is this monster in a cage with meat in it and he is spitting stuff at you, but it can't hurt you because he is behind a force field so to speak. Bit there are walls that if you go up to and press the space bar, it will open up secret rooms. One in particular has this really nasty guy dressed in green who has like a futuristic AK-47 and in this room there is a ton of gold and the very best of the gun selection, some sort of cannon and there might have been another gun too, or maybe it was the gun of the green guy. It is truly terrifying though because the green guy will pretend to die and then get back up and kill you. That was the best room though because if you killed the guy then you got all of the gold and money bags and you could use the amazing gun. and each level had a keycard that you needed to find for the elevator, and when you found it you could move to the next level. What are the names of these three videogames.

Small plug-in cooler / refrigerator that doesn't look like one? My boss has decided we're not to have refrigerators or microwaves in our office...she says the ones down the hall are fine. However, the ones down the hall are next to a guy who will trap you in excrutiating coversation for 10 minutes if you go near him. I'm thinking a fridge that looks more like a lunch bag/box would be awesome...I want something small I can leave under my desk that plugs in that doesn't require ice or anything like that...it doesn't even need to cool all THAT well...anyone seen anything like this? It can't be something that stands out, like a big plastic dog or something like that...just something that looks more like a laptop case or lunch tote. :) Bonus points to anyone who finds a microwave like this...lol. (Boss is not even here much of the time!)

No smudges, no colors getting mixed up!” Mabel giggled, “Your pink eye shadow doesn’t match your dark red lips”. Noah grinned and started to sing “Ain’t no other man”. “You look and sing just like a miniature Christina Aguilera!” Mabel said while putting on nail polish. There was no one else in the bathroom and they felt relaxed. Rrrrring! “Oh my gosh! We’re gonna be late!” Noah struggled to pack up her cosmetics in her purple pouch. “Wait!”, screamed Noah, “my lips got smudged!” Mabel sighed. Why was it that Mabel only needed nail polish to feel beautiful while Noah needed the whole enchilada? Noah finally found a light shade of lavender and wiped it all over her lips. She put on a coat of her signature vanilla Lip Smacker. They rushed out of the bathroom and into the classroom. The teacher stared at them. He was a bald man with round, black glasses and he had on a button-down shirt, a tie with prancing elves, and tuxedo pants. “You girls got lucky. Class starts in one more minute but everyone else came early. Guess they’re all excited about stepping up and becoming seventh graders.” They took the seats in the front next to each other. A couple seconds later, the teacher announced “Five, four, three…” Amber, Raquel, Ashley, and Anna rushed in right when he was going to say “two”. Mabel and Noah looked at each other and mouthed the words “popular girls”. This group is even worse than all the bullies. These girls were so preppy and girly and Amber was the head of them. It was her who said what do and what not to do and everyone else in her crew did exactly what she said and she treated them like servants. They even wore matching clothes and today, it was plaid Bermuda shorts, sparkly tank tops, and ballet flats. The group took the seats right next to Robert. Amber worked up her charm and flirted with Robert. Mabel grunted and played around with the key chain in the pocket of her hoodie. “No more being a nerd,” she whispered to herself. Apparently, Noah heard and winked. She then whispered, “Good idea, Mabel!” The teacher cleared his voice and in a soft therapist voice said, “Hello students. My name is Mr. Smith and I’m going to be your history teacher.” Everyone stared at him as if he was speaking another language. As always, Mabel knew that Mr. Smith would be a great teacher. Mr. Smith pulled out a box of textbooks and passed them out. “Everyone, please to turn to page 6. Please silently read this section on ancient Egypt.” Everyone got right to work and started reading while Mr. Smith sat down at his desk. He jotted down things on a notebook. Half an hour later, when everyone was finished reading, he passed out slips of paper to everyone. “Please put your slip into the hat on my desk”, he pointed to his desk “we will be starting our ancient Egypt projects and now we are picking partners.” Mabel’s heart started pounding. The only way that Robert could notice me is if I worked with him on a project, she thought. “The first pair is Rachel and Chris.” Mable was shocked. Who knew Rachel, the sophisticated wannabe-lawyer would wound up with the kid who did arm farts in front of the teacher? “The next pair is Noah and Robert.” Mabel almost cried. How could this be? But then she calmed down. What if she used Noah to ask Robert some questions about what kind of girl he was into? Hmmm…maybe Noah was more useful than giving bad makeovers. Mr. Smith glanced up at the clock. “Whoops! Time is running out! I better assign partners and fast!”, he said in a cartoon voice. “Harold and Mabel. Thomas and Amber. Tiffany and Raquel. Anna and Mohammed. Ashley and David.” Mabel felt like dying. How could she possibly be stuck with Harold, the boy who picks his nose and eats a plain sandwich with a massive dallop of mayonnaise and a pickle or two to top it off. Mabel never forgot the time when he shoved one of his icky sandwiches up her throat. She barfed and had to go home early. After history class, Mabel went to the bathroom while Noah went to ask Mr. Smith some questions about the project. Mabel was upset that Noah got to be Robert’s partner. Noah barged into the girl’s bathroom. “Why didn’t you wait for me?” groaned Noah. Mabel just applied some lip-gloss and looked the other way. Noah frowned. Mabel then smacked her lips and blew her nails. “Mabel, you can’t give me the silent treatment forever. Now, tell me why you’re so mad.” Mabel cleared her throat, “Why do you get to be Robert’s partner and I don’t?” Noah looked at Mabel as if she was stupid. “Mabel, the whole partner-picking thing was random, so I didn’t get to choose.” Mabel rolled her yes, “So what? I’m still mad.” Noah started to get angry and shouted, “Its not my fault!” Mabel stared at her. Mabel had never seen Noah erupt before. She must have really pressed Noah’s buttons, but she didn’t care, or at least pretended not to care. Mabel finally got the message: Noah might actually like Robert. “Wait a minute,” said Mabel “you like Robert.” Noah was silent. “Do you like Robert?” Mabel demanded. Noah nodded her head. Mabel started crying. Noah approached Mabel and hugged her. English class was pretty quiet without Noah yelling out answers and whispering jokes about Mrs. Renoldi. Mrs. Renoldi was an old-fashioned lady who probably still believed it was the 1900’s. In a turtleneck sweater, shiny silver pants, loafers, poofy hair, a red and green headband, and novelty earrings, she was the nerdiest teacher in the whole school. After English class, Mabel went over to get her science book from her locker to study at lunch. Noah had slipped a note into Mabel’s locker: Dear Mabel, I’m really sorry. Please forgive me. I mean, it’s not my fault that I have a crush on Robert. Besides, its not like I’m going to flirt with him or something. -Noah Mabel carefully studied the note. Wow…Noah even used the blue gel pen I gave her last year , thought Mabel. She did feel bad about being mad at Noah for no reason. She wanted to forgive her, but she wasn’t sure yet. She pulled out her science book and her wrinkled up paper bag and headed over to the cafeteria. Lunch just wasn’t the same without Noah. Mabel couldn’t stand it. She walked over to where Noah was sitting and dumped milk all over her head. Noah screamed. Noah went running like a dog with a tail on fire. And Robert frowned. “What the heck, you geek?!” he shouted. Mabel stared at him, feeling the tears slipping out of her eyes. A geek? Great, now I know he thinks I’m a geek, she thought. Mabel took her wrinkled up paper bag with an apple core and half of the sandwich and walked out of the cafeteria. She went to her locker and stared at herself in the mirror of her locker. Move information from one computer to another.? Okay, so I have a Gateway MT3418 laptop that I bought in 2007. Last year I accidentally cracked the screen, and within a week, the entire screen was ruined. It has been sitting in a bag for around a year, and now I want to use it again. I have been calling around, and Gateway wants around $500 to fix it. Instead of wasting money and dealing with Gateway's HORRIBLE customer service, I am just going to buy a new, better laptop. I don't want to have to start over, so I would like to know if there is an easy and preferably free, way to transfer my programs, user profiles, registry, etc, to the new laptop. If theres not an easy way, then its cool, and ill just manually do it. Any input is welcome. And I have to say this, please do NOT get a Gateway computer, unless your ready to pay for it with more than money. Thanks

My best friend keeps copying me. What can i do? okay so, i have a awesome best friend, and well she is also my cousin. We have been together like forever! When we hit high school we sperated a little bit. But as soon as a new kid moved to school and we both became awesome friend's with them, she started hanging around with his other friends from his old school. He is with the whole "scene" thing and is pretty cool. My cousin always trys to be with the "cool" crowd. For awhile i wasn't scene or anything but just had abit of a different style to everyone else, but apperently people saw me abit scene-ish, even though i wasn't going for that look and then suddenly, she full on starts copying me. when are the quad-core laptops with DDR3 memory(ram) going to be mass released to the public? Dual-core laptops with DDR2 memory(ram) are now being offered with 3 & 4GB of ram and larger hard drives(250-320GB). They must be clearing their inventory out to make room for the new quad-core operating systems, new solid state hard drives with no moving parts allowing them to run cooler and weigh less. They become virtually shock resistant and saves power giving longer battery life. When is the release date for the stampede by the pc makers for the U.S. market for this new pc(desktop & laptop) already stockpiled and ready for release? how should i deal with this??? i have a friend who is hard headed. he just bugs me and every time he would talk to me during class i try to ignore him because there was already 2 days that i didn't finished my work and i didn't like that. what i am trying to do in class is to get good grades but in my opinion he is just trying to stop me getting a good grade. there was another day that i did miss the homework because he was talking to me. lately i've been noticing the real him. last year we were just cool and everything. this year since he is in my class, he is very nosey. there was once he just comes out of nowhere and checks what is in my bag and i didn't noticed. another time was i was helping someone with their laptop in class and i left my email open. when i come back i caught him looking through my emails. i already don't trust. what else should i do? he even wrote a letter today telling me all the stuff that i do to him and not everyone else. don't say that i should tell him that i need space. when i told him that he takes it the other way saying that i'm asking to end the friendship. i've never had a friend like this before. i also have a best friend who knows him longer than i do and he told me that he never acted like that to him.
