How do you remove watermarks on leather bags?

I have a brown leather bag and some water got on it and I would like to know how do I go about removing them.

1. You have to re-die the bag.
2. You could color it or polish it.
3. If the leather is an absorbent leather (aniline style) then the water mark will be in the leather and may be permanent. If you clean and protect on a regualr basis they may dissipate over time but they cannot be cleaned out. Please do not try saddle soap, mink oil or any of the 'conditioning' creams as this is likely to make the problem much worse.
