Is my leather bag staining my pants?
I have a brown leather messenger bag that is, I think, staining the upper part of my pants (looks black and dirty) that connects with the bag. The bag isn't muddy or dusty, so I'm not sure what the stain is. Is it possibly something in the leather (oil) is causing the stain, and please tell me what I should do about it? Scotch Guard's leather stuff or some other proctectant? Just try to clean it myself? Professional cleaning? Please help! Thanks so much!

- YES!!! it's your bag.I'm on a leather tool bag business thats why i knew it.It's the dye that was being used, try using scotch guard.
- You have 2 problems here. 1. You have to clean your pants - take to drycleaner and tell them about your leather bag. 2. You have to seal the leather on your bag - Get a sealant from your nearest shoe store, spray on let dry and spray on again, or follow the directions.
- Yes its the leather my belt does the same thing. Professional cleaning.
- Some leather bags are stained to achieve a color and "look". Yes, very likely that bag is staining your clothing. I'd recommend professional dry-cleaning.
