Returning a notebook to walmart?

I bought a notebook from walmart and I only needed a 1 subject notebook for my math class, but I accidentally grabbed a 3 subject notebook. Can I just go exchange them? I haven't even taked the notebook out of the bag, it's in perfect condition. I just noticed on the way home that it is 3 subject & i don't like the notebooks that big because they fall apart on me. It seems kinda silly, but I am really cheap and I don't wanna waste my money on something i'm not gonna use. Thanks!
