  1. From experience and not even NYCM cold I say oh yes....
  2. not as long as you bring it indoors for it to get to room temperature before you turn it on... this process takes about 30 min. ... otherwise the perspiration from cold to hot or vice versa could burn out your pc.....
  3. hurt it?? yes and no. first, if you read the owners guide, it will tell you to store at a constant room teperature. that is due to the batteries. cold will not harm a battery to much, but i'm not talking about -10'f. either,, heat, oh yah, that will deplete a batterys life real fast, what i would really worry about is the condensation that developes in the trunk. that will kill it all real fast, bring it with you..
  4. I wouldn't recommend it. You will want to use it shortly after removing the notebook from the trunk. Being that a PC - especially a notebook - heats up quickly after power up, you can prematurely damage the electrical circuits inside the chips. And I would think that the more you do this, the more damage that will accumulate. Furthermore, I'm willing to bet that doing this will void the warranty on the notebook (if it is still valid). If it were mine, I'd stash it somewhere under the seat in the vehicle. I'd even leave the heater on for a while to make sure the notebook didn't get too cold inside the vehicle. Most all electical components are not designed for operation or storage below 10 degrees Celsius.
  5. it probably will. but if you follow some simple steps, it may lessen the damage to your machine. remove your battery when leaving it there so it wont have the risk of short circuit. also, if you wanna use your laptop, dont start it right away. its best to leave it on a warm place first for a few hours if you can so all the condensation tha developed inside when you took your machine from cold to warm will dry up. never start it right away or it will get totally damaged. the worst that could happen on your machine if you follow these is corrosion after a few years due to the condensation. its best thought that you never leave any electronic device on a very cold or a very warm climate.
